2016 Las Vegas Area “Things to Do”

2016 North American Heartland Owners Rally – Las Vegas

A Resource for “Doing your own thing” in Las Vegas

Las Vegas is an entertainment mecca that presents rally attendees unlimited opportunity to “do their own thing”.  As such, we’re leaving several large blocks of time open for attendees to take in the entertainment “you want” while still affording you an opportunity to take in much of what is going with the rally.

There are many ways to obtain tickets to Las Vegas area events, shows and attractions. You can go to the event box offices, you can try the front desk at Oasis, you can buy online and one of my favorites, first thing each morning, you can drive over to one of the many Tix4Tonight ticket outlets to purchase deeply discounted tickets to events for “that night”.

2016 Pre-Rally Tours

2016 North American Heartland Owners Rally – Las Vegas

Pre-Rally Tours

Las Vegas is an entertainment mecca. There are literally thousands of things to see and do in and around Las Vegas.

We understand that rally attendees come to the Pre-Rally for different reasons. Some come early so they are already settled into their site and the area before the rally starts Thursday morning. Some come early so they can hang out with their club member friends. Some come early to take in areas sights, shows, meals out etc. and to do so before the rally begins so they don’t miss anything the rally has going on. Whatever your reason is for joining us for the Pre-Rally, we say “it’s all good!”.

Of those who will take in some of what Las Vegas and the area has to offer, some will opt to “do their own thing”.  And there will be some who have never been to the area or have not been back in decades and may want to be catered to a bit, or at least have someone else do the arranging.

For the Pre-Rally attendee who would like to buy into an optional tour for Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday of the Pre-Rally, read-on…

“On Your Own” – Activity Planning Resources

In addition to all 4 Pre-Rally days, we will have some “open periods” during the rally to afford rally attendees more opportunities to “do their own thing” without having to miss any Rally items.

Some sights and activities in and around Las Vegas require advance planning and tickets, while others require no planning and are free.  Below are a couple of resources to consider when planning your non-rally activities.

Ticketed Activities

There are many ways to obtain tickets to Las Vegas area events, shows and attractions. You can go to the event box offices, you can try the front desk at Oasis and you can buy online.  And one of my favorites, first thing each morning, you can drive over to one of the many Tix4Tonight ticket outlets to purchase deeply discounted tickets to events for “that night”.

In addition to giving you time to “do your own thing”, both during the pre-rally and the rally, we’re planning 3 “rally-included” entertainment items.

Thursday, Oct 6, 6:30 pm (doors open at 6 pm)
Woodie and the Longboards concert at the Ravello Lounge at The M Resort-Spa-Casino
woodie-and-the-long-boards-full-logoOur rally dinner is at 5pm at The M Resort-Spa-Casino in their Studio B Buffet. After dinner, attendees will transition to the Ravello Lounge, adjacent to the Studio B. The doors and bar opens at 6 pm and the show starts at 6:30. Woodie and the Longboards will be performing a split set with the first half covering the Beach Boys and the second half covering the Eagles. This should be a great time. Bring your dancing shoes and maybe wear a Hawaiian shirt!

Friday, Oct 7, 4 pm to …
Patio Party at Oasis
While many rally attendees will be out on the town tonight, those that elect to stay back will have another entertainment option at Oasis. The Club is coordinating a Patio Party adjacent to our rally hall (Ballroom). We’ll have a cash bar by Liquid Courage. The Club will provide tickets to those in attendance to cover your first drink (beer, wine, liquor, soda and water). The Club is sponsoring music by Club member Len Trujillo. The Club encourages those planning to attend the Patio Party to bring a snack/appetizer to share. Food can be placed on the tables inside the Rally Hall. Power will be available for warmers if needed. The Club will provide plates, napkins and silverware.

Saturday, Oct 8, around 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm
DJ and Dancing at Oasis
After our evening’s catered dinner and door prize drawings, we’ll have a DJ playing music you can move to – so bring your “dancing shoes”!

2016 RV Weighing Service

2016 North American Heartland Owners Rally – Las Vegas

RV Weighing Details

Weigh-To-Go-Logo

  • Who
For all rally attendees that are interested in it
  • What
RV Weighing is a process where our service provider, “Weigh To Go” will place scales under your RV and truck tires and record your weights.  The analysis done afterwards will help you better understand your towing weights in a wheel-by-wheel, axle-by-axle manner and help you understand how your actual weights compare to the capacity of your truck and your RV
  • When
Weighing can be done as you arrive at the venue before you go to your site or on your way out – the day you leave.  The team should be in place for first weighs on September 30 and last weighs on October 10
  • Where
The weighing team would prefer to weigh your entire setup “on your way in”.  We will work with the venue to identify a location where RVs can queue up and get weighed.  Later, the weigh team will stop by your site to weigh your truck again, but disconnected from your RV
  • Cost
$60 to have your RV only weighed / $90 to have your RV and Truck both weighed*
    * While more money, it’s highly recommended that you have your truck weighed as well.  By doing so, you’ll learn your actual truck weigh, by axle and you’ll learn your RV’s pin/hitch weight
  • More Info
The weigh team “does all the work“, collecting the tire and chassis data, looking up correct tire pressures, air the tires if they are under inflated, thoroughly cover the report with the RV owner and provide on going support if the owner has future questions about their particular configuration or weighing/tires in general
  • Online Weighing Request Form
Follow this link and complete the online form to request Weighing Service.  Tom Case will then follow up with you to firm up your appointment.
